OVERVIEW
Spotlight showcases the three-year academic journey of the National Institute of Design’s Graphic Design students from the 2019 batch. It highlights their diverse backgrounds, a blend of online and offline experiences, and the unique perspectives that define both their individual and collective growth in the field of graphic design.
AMBITION
To develop an identity that reflects our collective experiences as a batch while celebrating the distinctiveness of each individual within it.
MY ROLE
Created during a 24-hour design sprint, the project required the collective input and effort of the entire team. I contributed actively to the ideation and development of the identity, assisted in applying it across various collateral, and played a key role in the documentation process.

UNIQUELY OURS
We created Spotlight by tracing our roots from across India to Ahmedabad, the heart of NID. From there, we abstracted and refined the form, incorporating colors that reflect both our individuality and our discipline. The vibrant CMYK and RGB palette symbolizes the fusion of creativity and technical precision that defines graphic design. Stepping back to reflect on what this exhibition means to us inspired the name. For us, this exhibit is a chance to showcase our work after a long time—an opportunity to step forward and put ourselves into the spotlight!

LEARNING
Mission Possible
Given the time constraints, efficient task management was essential to ensure that all elements of the identity were aligned and cohesive. This experience highlighted the importance of close collaboration, which allowed us to adapt quickly to changes and feedback. It became clear that maintaining open communication and flexibility within the team is crucial for effectively managing the challenges of a time-sensitive project.
