To inform and educate youth about the rich history of EDM music promoting them to see the genre as something much more profound than just electronic beats that people dance to.
CONTEXT
“Before the Drop” traces the evolution of Electronic Dance Music (EDM), revealing how it has transformed from humble beginnings into a vibrant cultural powerhouse. While today’s EDM scene is characterized by electrifying events, chart-topping tracks, and a devoted global following, its rich historical roots are often overlooked. This book aims to uncover the layers behind the genre, showcasing the profound impact EDM has on society and culture.

I intended to create an engaging, easy-to-navigate publication by developing a visual system that color-coded each subgenre based on its vibe, ensuring intuitive and enjoyable navigation.

How might we deepen the reader’s comprehension and appreciation of the genres featured in the book?
SOLUTION
A few spreads have scannable Spotify QR codes which would allow users to experience the music while they read about it.
